3 weeks of Presents for L'il C!

L'il C made out like a bandit. That is prolly the ONLY good thing about having parents that are divorced.... She had Christmas with me, Christmas at my mom & dad's, Christmas at my Grandma's, as well as at her dad's, his mom's, his dad's, his wife's parents, his wife's grandparents...

Then after 8 days of celebrating Christmas......we turn around briefly to celebrate New Year's and then next week is her birthday. Which means Birthday with me, birthday with him, birthday with....well you get the idea. The kid gets more toys than she knows what to do with. By the time we get last years toys bagged up for charity it starts all over again.

Not quite what she meant...

L'il C was talking on the phone yesterday to her dad. She was retelling a story to him and letting him know how funny it was....

"Dad it was so funny. I was crapping up laughing!"

Uhhhh.....

I Declare....

There is always discussion by L'il C in the differences between the way things are done at her dad's and the way things are done with me. Fascinating for a little girl who is almost 6.....Completely annoying for me! But in this case it wasn't so bad....

To me, conditioner plays 2 very important factors on a girl's hair. One it conditions your hair, But the part I like most (if you have a good conditioner) is that it detangles your hair.

Now as I was applying conditioner to L'il C's hair she tells me that her dad always has to brush her hair before she gets in the bathtub to make it easier to get the tangles out.

To which I replied, "He wouldn't have to do that if he used conditioner on your hair."

Her response, "Yes, I know. I told him that. But I 'declared' he didn't have any!"

My kid is 6 and knows what the word declare means. She is on the Honor Roll and can kick your kid's butt! LOL!

Oklahoma Drivers!

As a whole, the people in Oklahoma can NOT drive. I live here, I know! Not only can they not drive in Sunny pretty weather, you do NOT want to be on the roads when it has started raining and surely not when there is ice or snow on the roads.

We become PURE idiots!

No lie, these are things I have seen in the last 2 days:

People going 65 mph coming up on traffic at a standstill and wondering why they can't stop. Therefore they go DOWN DOWN DOWN the hill into the embankment. OUCH!

People slamming on their brakes and doing 360's!

A MAN driving down the road and hadn't even cleared his windshield. He was peering over the top of the snow that had slid down 6 inches from the top trying to see out. Are you kidding me?!?!

And last but certainly not least..... A MAN driving 55mph on ice...SHAVING!

Please if you are from a state that knows how to drive on ice and snow, do not visit Oklahoma during such conditions. You will be risking your life! Thank you, that is all.

Birthday fun!

What a fun time I had!

Not only did I have 10 inches of snow and lots of ice for my birthday (a first in a LONG time) but I had many laughs as well!

Since it snowed so heavily (for my part of the country) we had to drive 30 miles at approximately 10-30mph to get to the designated restaurant...Texas Roadhouse!

Dinner was fabulous! I had the 6oz sirloin . They had to recook it. I asked for medium and it was pretty much rare. Ugh. But once it was the way I had ordered it....it was simply perfection!

They did however make me get in the saddle as they announced it was my 21st birthday!? Uhm...okay. That birthday was 7 years ago, but who is counting?!

After the delicious dinner, we started our 30 mile trek home. Idiots were all over the road...anywhere from spinning in circles to sliding off the off ramps too early.

500 ft from our last exit traffic came to a standstill. So into park we go. The left lane of traffic was clear next to us. The family nominated me to get out and ask the guy in front of us (a Fed Ex trucker) if he had heard what was going on ahead of us. About a mile in front of (which we couldn't see because it was around the ramp) a semi had spun into about 3 cars in the middle of the highway.

After sitting for 30 minutes and no progress had been made, my brother-in-law needed to make a pit stop. On came my dad's WAY COOL boots and down the hill he went!

My sister and I decided to get out and play in the road. (It isn't every day you get to play in the middle of the interstate!) Her husband joined us when he returned.

The trucker in front of us got out and talked to us for about 20-30 minutes.

An HOUR AND A HALF later....we were finally able to go home!

It really was fun and a great way to waste time while stuck in traffic. L'il C, my mom, and my dad were ready to get home....prolly because they hadn't joined in the highway frolic! :)

It definitely was a memorable time! Happy Birthday to Me!

(After many months of debating whether to put pics on the internet again, I finally decided too and STUPID BLOGGER won't upload them!--Guess that is a sign!) Sorry!

Seems well-balanced to me... therefore I will not be taking a poll!
